Welcome to The Light House Birth
We’re so glad you found us! We are a group of local mothers dedicated to helping every birthing person have a positive birth and a supported postpartum experience. Serving families throughout Buffalo and the surrounding Western New York areas, we guide you from pregnancy through postpartum with care, knowledge, and compassion.
Our services help prepare your body and mind for birth through prenatal yoga, childbirth education, hands-on labor support and so much more. Our center includes a number of perinatal professionals who work as a team to help you achieve your birth and parenting goals. We focus on empowering families, providing guidance, and fostering confidence at every stage of the journey.
The name “The Light House” is inspired by the Spanish phrase for giving birth, dar a luz, which translates to “giving light.” Every birthing person embodies this light, and we honor and celebrate it in every family we work with—let us help you shine!
What is a Doula?
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and educational support to families before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Doulas are dedicated to helping families have a positive and empowering birth experience, regardless of how you choose to give birth.
At The Light House, our doulas support birthing mothers in a variety of settings, including home and hospital births, welcoming families from all backgrounds. Buffalo has a number of great doulas, and we are a uniquely skilled group. Our certified birth and postpartum doulas work as a team to make sure you are supported every step of the way. A doula’s role is not to make decisions for you, but to provide guidance, options, and education through evidence-based and holistic techniques, ensuring you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your birth journey.
Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga
Practicing yoga during pregnancy can help you connect with your body, build strength, and develop breathing and relaxation techniques that are invaluable during labor. In the weeks and months leading up to your baby’s arrival, prenatal yoga can also help you feel grounded, centered, and supported.
At The Light House Birth, we offer prenatal and postpartum yoga sessions tailored to your needs, as well as prenatal-friendly group classes around Buffalo and the surrounding areas. Our classes focus on improving flexibility, reducing pregnancy discomfort, supporting postpartum recovery, and fostering a sense of calm and confidence throughout your motherhood journey.
