The Process
Our placenta encapsulation process is handled with care, professionalism, and attention to safety every step of the way. After your birth, your placenta is picked up directly from your birth location and transported safely for preparation. It is then carefully cleaned, gently steamed, and fully dehydrated before being ground into a fine powder and placed into easy-to-take capsules. Once complete, your placenta capsules are delivered back to your home for convenience and peace of mind. All preparation is done following strict cleanliness standards, and your encapsulator has completed a certified food safety course to ensure safe handling practices throughout the entire process.
Benefits of Consuming Your Placenta
Placenta encapsulation is a natural option many mothers in the Buffalo and WNY area explore to support postpartum recovery and overall well-being. Women who choose to consume their placenta often report increased energy levels and a more balanced emotional transition after birth.
Placenta capsules may support breast milk production, help ease common postpartum symptoms, and assist your body as it adjusts to motherhood. Whether it’s your first baby or your tenth. They are also rich in iron and nutrients that can help replenish your body after childbirth.
Most placenta capsules last between 4 to 6 weeks and can be taken daily or as needed based on how you’re feeling. In addition to capsules, placenta tinctures offer long-term support with an extended shelf life. Many mothers use tinctures during times of hormonal or emotional change, such as the return of their menstrual cycle, weaning from breastfeeding, or other transitions throughout motherhood.
At The Light House Birth, your encapsulator, Alex, provides trusted placenta encapsulation services for families throughout the Buffalo area, with extensive experience supporting hundreds of clients.
